Effective border security is a major challenge across the Asia Pacific. Critical, persistent issues involving criminal activities include Translational Organised Crime, drug trafficking, the smuggling of weapons, contraband, and the illegal trafficking of humans.
If these threats were not enough to keep us awake at night there is always the issue of security from terrorist attacks which is certainly a major concern that drives many border security considerations.
Against this backdrop SMi is proud to announce the launch of it's inaugural Border Security Asia Pacific conference and exhibition which will be held in Singapore on the 30th and 31st January 2012.
The conference offers you the opportunity to hear the latest regional Maritime Border Protection Programmes. Assess how different regional agencies from accross Asia Pacific are securing maritime borders and coastlines.
Other focus sessions will include insights into the latest Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance programmes for enhancing border security, including case studies from Singapore, Sri Lanka and the UK.
Further challenges will be raised during interactive panel discussions and working groups focusing on Integration of Technology for Safe and Secure Borders - Human vs. Technology and Transborder Legal Issues and Human Rights. Plus don’t miss our sessions on Land Borders and assess how Technology is being used as an Enabler for Safe and Secure Borders Across the Asia Pacific Region. Take the chance to get involved in these interactive debates and make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to get your opinion across to the people that matter.
Don’t miss the opportunity to meet and network with a diverse mixture of international experts from the Border Security community. Taking part in this event will ensure you are kept fully up-to-date with the latest challenges, threats and solutions ensuring you stay at the forefront of this important sector.
