Recent events such as the discovery of the Stuxnet virus have left little doubt as to the potential implications of nations failing to develop adequate cyberwarfare capabilities. Cyberwarfare is no longer seen as an aside to conventional defence but as a fourth area of operations alongside air, land and sea.

Cyberspace concerns extend throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and they are increasingly playing key roles in how nations define security and threats. Traditional area geopolitical rivalries are enhanced by the potential for cyberoperations, and nations once secure behind rugged borders or vast bodies of water now face potential threats to their national infrastructure through a realm that knows no borders.

Against this backdrop SMi is proud to announce the launch of it's inaugural Cyber Security Asia conference and exhibition which will be held in Singapore on the 9th and 10th November 2011.

The conference offers you the opportunity to hear from International Cyber Commands. Assess how Cyber Commands are conducting full spectrum military cyberspace operations in order to enable actions in all domains.

Other focus sessions will include insights into the latest National Capabilities and Strategies and Programmes, including case studies on the Chinese Cyber Security Programme, the Singapore Cyber Programme, Chinese Cyber Nationalism, The Cyber Defence Cell in Japan, The UK’s and Russia’s National Cyber Security Initiatives, Open Source Cyber intelligence and Cloud Realities.

Further challenges will be raised during interactive panel discussions and working groups focusing on Cyber Attack – Is it an Act of War? And What Constitutes Cyber Terrorism?  Fact vs. Fiction. Plus don’t miss our sessions on the protection of Critical National Infrastructure and assess how Cyber Terrorism is being used across the Asia Pacific region. Take the chance to get involved in these interactive debates and make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to get your opinion across to the people that matter.

Don’t miss the chance to meet and network with a diverse mixture of international experts from the Cyber Security community. Taking part in this event will ensure you are kept fully up-to-date with the latest challenges, threats and solutions ensuring you stay at the forefront of this important sector.

The Cyber Security Asia conference taking place on the 9th and 10th November will run parallel to a vibrant exhibition where vendors will have the opportunity to showcase their latest products, technology and solutions for the Cyber Security community.
