Pharmaceutical Profiles is a Phase I/IIa CRO that incorporates sophisticated medical imagaing technologies into clinical trials to provide more data from a study. Deposition of inhaled COPD drugs in the lungs is an essential prerequisite for a clinical effect. The radionuclide imaging techniques of gamma scintigraphy and SPECT may be used to quantify pulmonary drug deposition. Recent advances in these methods, including their combination with pharmacokinetic evaluation (“pharmacoscintigraphy”), will be presented.
