Advanced Meter Data Management

associated eventsHow MDM Supports the Business

overview

Advanced Meter Data Management has been described as the "key to the smart utility", however its significance in the implementation of the Advanced Meter Infrastructure has often been overlooked. With Smart meter Projects being proposed and approved across the globe there has never been a more suitable time for SMi to hold their inaugural conference Advanced Meter Data Management.

The UK’s government has proposed the essential role-out of smart meters for every home to take place in the UK by 2020. There has never  been a project in the UK involving so much two way digital data. This data needs to be stored, analysed, regulated and secured effectively and this is where data management programmes need to be thoroughly considered and analysed before implementation. Utility companies are looking for innovative ways to manage their data whether this be through building their own in house systems or by out sourcing to expert companies. However, regardless of the method, this is an enormous challenge that needs to be addressed by the industry, government and technology providers in order for the transition to the smart energy network to be successful.

Key Topics will Include:

·                 The importance of Advanced Meter Data Management in the implementation of the smart grid

·                 The role of the government in regulating and protecting the data

·                 To build an In-house system or Outsource?

·                 Advanced Meter Data Management market overview – Challenges and Opportunities

·                 Making use of the collected data to improve production and performance
