About Your Master Class Leaders:

Peter French:

Peter French is the Director of GOLD COMMAND Ltd.  GOLD COMMAND offers specialist business development and opportunity consultancy to companies within the security, counter terrorism, aviation and airport sectors. Peter retired from the UK Police Service in 2005 having attained the rank of A/Divisional Commander. Peter is a career Detective gaining nine commendations. Peter had responsibility for Counter Terrorism and the hijack plans at the UK designated hijack airport. Peter was A/Chair of the UK Airport Police Commanders Advisory Group, A/Chair of the Crime Group and founder of the UK Airport Police Commanders Crime Reduction Group of which he is still a member. Peter is a Fellow at the Security Institute,(FSyI)  a Fellow at the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA)a Senior Visiting Fellow at the American University Washington DC.  He is also a Churchill Fellow having been supported by the UK Government to study Drug Related Crime in the United States. Peters Masters Degree at Exeter University UK examined the Effectiveness of CCTV Surveillance and the Opinions of Criminals Towards CCTV.

Wolfgang Rehak:

Born in1956 in Berlin. Dr Rehak studied Chemistry at the Humboldt-University Berlin. After his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1987 he worked in a Joint Industrial Research Group. In 1991 he founded the Industry Research Association, Optotransmitter Umweltschutz Technologie - OUT e.V.  In 1994 he cofounded the ASI GmbH, a company related to advanced process control in the semiconductor equipment industry and acted as CEO. In 2004 Dr Rehak established the network ne-sis a network of innovative companies and research institutes focussing on systems for integrated security monitoring. Within the framework of ne-sis, the concept of a European Centre for Aviation Security EASC is jointly developed.

Dr Uwe Weigmann:

Born in 1950 in Berlin, Uwe Weigmann got his PhD in Physics at the Technical University of Berlin. Following a postdoctoral stay at the University of Toronto, he joined the surface chemistry group of the Fritz-Haber Institute of the Max-Planck Society. In the mid 80's he started to work for the Fraunhofer Society in microelectronics research and was involved in the management of to major European microelectronic research programs JESSI and MEDEA. From 2000 on he worked in the project management team of the German Aerospace Center, which administrates research projects of the German Federal Research Ministry. In July 2007 he joined the Technology Foundation Berlin and is in charge of the MATNET project.
